The meaning of the inverted pentagram

A pentagram is a five-pointed star, often surrounded by a circle. It symbolizes the union of the spirit with the natural elements (water, earth, air and fire) in the great whole of the universe represented by the circle.

When the pentagram is inverted, as here, the mind is considered to be turned towards the earth, so towards matter. Sometimes it is also considered that the mind is turned to what is beneath the earth, so the hell. This is one of the reasons why the inverted pentagram is sometimes seen as a satanic symbol.

In the past, it was considered as a powerful symbol of protection. This is why we can find inverted pentagrams in some religious buildings such as the Cathedral of Amiens or the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Montmartre.

Our quality policy

The pewter we use is pure at 97% and in accordance with European standards (lead, nickel, cadmium, mercury and antimony free). The chain is in stainless steel. All these metals are hypoallergenic.
