About the Celtic symbols

The triskelion is an ancient Celtic symbol with three branches and several interpretations. Generally it is considered to symbolise water, earth and fire, but another interpretation is that it symbolises sky, earth and water. Another interesting interpretation is that it represents the deities Lug, Ogme and Dagda.

The Dara knot is also a Celtic symbol, whose name comes from the word Doire, meaning "oak" in Gaelic. Thus the Dara knot represents the roots of the oak, a tree symbolising wisdom, strength, destiny and power.

The triquetra, also sometimes called the trinity knot, is a well-known Celtic symbol. In paganism, it symbolises the triple goddess, but can also represent the elements (water, earth and air), or life, death and rebirth. The three branches of the triquetra also refer to the trinity, which is why this symbol was taken up by Christians.

The tree of life represents the union of earth and heaven, and thus symbolically of materiality and spirituality, as well as, in a more extensive way, of the macrocosm (the universe) and the microcosm (man). This makes it a particularly powerful symbol of all that forms life.
