Last weekend I exhibited at La Fête du Chapelier in Bron, near Lyon. As always, it was a great opportunity to meet people I'd made friends with during L'Étrange Noël des Sorciers, in a pleasant atmosphere despite the sweltering heat. But what you don't see when you visit my stand is the amount of work that goes into preparing it.
When I exhibit at a trade show or festival, I work an average of 70 hours during the week, and then carry on for another week without taking a single day off. Between preparing orders and making the stock that will be exhibited, it's a very difficult work rhythm to keep up with, even with such long hours. And in the end, some exhibitions are profitable, but others much less so, and you never know in advance.
This pace of work forces me to sacrifice time that I could be spending making new products, being more present on social networks, but also, of course, time that I could be spending with my loved ones or devoting to hobbies.
This prevents me from being sufficiently available by message, and it's increasingly difficult to keep up with my orders, which creates additional stress in the run-up to each exhibition. As you can see, keeping up this hellish pace is not good for me, and I'm forced to make choices.
That's why I've decided to stop attending all markets and festivals for an indefinite period. This will allow me to be less stressed, but also to release more new products, while being more available and present on social networks. I've got lots of projects on the go, new designs, drawings... I'm finally going to have some time to finalize everything and offer you lots of new things on the online store!
I know that some of you will be disappointed, but remember that even if we don't see each other irl anymore, you can still talk to me on social networks, and you'll be able to enjoy the many new products that will be released over the months! By the way, don't hesitate to let me know if you'd like me to share more of my work with you. Sometimes I show you my prototypes, the painting and so on, but maybe there's something else you'd like to see, maybe you'd even like me to do more videos? Let me know!
I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support, your many compliments and your loyalty! It's already been 12 years since I embarked on this great adventure that is The Witching Hour, and if I'm where I am today, it's also thanks to you! So thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to make a living from my passion!
